Hey Folks,

Mount Blackburn, the 5th highest peak in the US; a grand mountain!

Sometimes those moments in the mountains are just too grand to describe; This is one of those views that is beyond the sublime. The Great Horned Owls hooting behind me only added to the ambience. The more time I spend in Wrangell-St. Elias National Park and Preserve, the more impressive the place appears.

As the light faded, I quietly breathed my “thank you”, turned the skis around, and eased toward the night.

Cheers

Carl

Ahh snowy mountains! I just bought me some skis yesterday, getting psyched! I think I ended up with the same setup as one of the ones you have – Madshus Epochs with the Voile 3-pin tele binding and some Rossi boots. Can’t wait to learn some turns in mountains like that!

Hey Phil, thanks so much. Floris … did you get the cable binding or just the 3-pin? Yes, I have that setup (Karhu 10th Mountain are now Madshus Epochs). It’s a nice rig. Enjoy.

    Cheers

I got the ‘hardwire 3-pin tele binding’ – one step up from the cable binding (lightly used, so at the price point it was worth the extra I think). It’s snowing like crazy this week… can’t wait to go out!

    hey Floris

Oh, sweet. I have the Black Diamond 01s on my main tele setup, which are pretty rockin’. The 3-pins are so much lighter though, and great for XC travel. Heading out tonight for 3 more days. let me know how it goes this weekend, eh?

    Cheers

    Carl
