Hey Folks,
Here’s another photo from our backpacking trip to Skolai Pass early in September. We had a few nice cold mornings, and before the sun popped up I made a few images of the frosty tundra. Let’s see how many plants readers can identify in this image?
Cheers

Hey Carl – the cold getting to you already? You move from bears to leaves?
Hey Mark,
Actually, I thought the bears might be getting to the readers, so I threw in a few other shots. I should mention – this photo was taken with a Canon 40D and 60mm macro lens .. the property of one Mr Doug Roane, who totally saved my A** when my Nikon D2x busted. This was the first morning when I was nikon-less. All I can say is ‘Thanks Doug!’
I’ll try to post a few more bears, eh?
Cheers
Carl
definitely….. more bears!
although the Fireweed Mtn reflection image is lovely
Wow those tones just feel like winter is setting in!
My pleasure, Carl, and welcome to the macro world! This is awesome! Glad somebody got some macros of the frost! 😉 But I know you … you would’ve gladly traded me for the 16-35mm, wouldn’t you? lol
Hey Folks,
@ Russell. OK – deal .. I got more bears for ya. 🙂
@ Doug. Uhhmm . yeah .. the wide angles, esp up in a place like that, do kinda rule. Thanks again man.
@ Dan – thanks. Yeah, the tones were really nice .. that’s what caught my eye here, Winter’s right around the corner.
Thanks all.
Cheers
Carl
